National Croissant Day 2026.

Did you know that January 30th is officially National Croissant Day?!

The perfect opportunity to head to your favourite cafe for a baked, buttery treat - and, of course, a freshly-brewed cup of coffee to go with it - National Croissant Day is something we really feel ought to be shouted about a lot more

And if you can't make it to a cafe on the 30th, don't worry - we're going to share a couple of our favourite recipes with you so you can make your own in advance!

Here's what to do!

Cheesy Scrambled Egg Croissants.

These creamy delights are perfect for breakfast or brunch, at home or on the go!

Ingredients.

To make 4 cheesy scrambled egg croissants, you will need:

  • 8 large eggs

  • 100g grated cheddar

  • a splash of milk

  • a small bunch of chives, snipped

  • 4 large croissants

For something so tasty, this really is as easy as it gets…

To prepare, all you need to do is warm the croissants in your oven. While they're warming, whisk the eggs, cheddar, milk and some seasoning together in a bowl. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring continuously until softly scrambled. Stir in the chives, then split open the warm croissants, put the scrambled eggs inside and serve with your favourite coffee!

Chocolate and Almond Croissants.

Because there always needs to be a sweet option!

Ingredients.

To make 6 chocolate and almond croissants, you will need:

  • 6 croissants

  • 100g marzipan, broken into small pieces

  • 50g toasted sliced almonds

  • 50g milk chocolate, chopped

Start by heating your oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Next, slice into each croissant lengthways, but not all the way through – they should open like books - and sprinkle the bottom half of each croissant with marzipan, followed by 1 tsp almonds and 1 tbsp chocolate.

Finally, close the croissants, put on a baking sheet and sprinkle the remaining chocolate and almonds on top. Bake for 5 mins or until the chocolate has melted, then serve warm, ideally in a cosy armchair with a hot, fresh coffee!

Happy Croissanting!
